A cute gift idea..

I made this little basket today to match a chenille patchwork blanket that I already had in stock.  I used Essex linen for the outside, some Lucy's Crab Shack daisy fabric for the lining and then stitched a bit of blackboard fabric to the front.  Turned out pretty cute.
Inside the basket is the blanket, and 2 bibs.  I backed the bibs with a soft organic flannel.

One more bag....

Pin ItFinished another order today-she wanted a woodland theme for her little boy to pack his toys in that he takes in the car with him.  I thought this fit the theme perfectly.  This is quite large, I'm sure he'll be able to fit lots of goodies in there to keep him occupied on road trips!

Birthday gift

I made this little drawstring bag today for a little girl who will be celebrating her 5th birthday on Sunday.  Then, filled it with all things handmade.  One of my little reusable snack bags, and then all the rest is from HomeGrownGoods.
Pin ItHome made play-doh, Lego, hello kitty, insects and flower crayons, sidewalk chalk.  So fun, and she is the perfect age to enjoy it!

Baskets

Pin ItGetting some more custom orders crossed off my list.  Sometimes its nice to have a cloudy summer day-then I don't feel so guilty spending the morning in my sewing room!!

Loving the fabric!

Ok, I am in love with the blue floral.  I may need to keep this one for myself!!
Pin ItThe gray stripe has a beautiful crocheted strip in it.  So pretty-yes, I am starting to prepare for fall craft shows!!  Crazy, but it's never too early to start-I'm not one to burn the midnight oil right before a show-in fact, I usually quit sewing a day or two prior and just do my packing/tagging etc.

More cards and scarves....

Still happily coloring some cards-made a set of cards for expecting Mom's today.
Also colored these images-the ladybug girl is from Stamping Bella and the bunny is from Purple Onions Designs.
Finished off some more scarves-buttercup yellow and a large scale black chevron.
Pin ItAlso a teal chevron and a navy and teal stripe (which I just mailed off this afternoon!

For the Boys!

Pin ItWhile I was in Glasgow, I stopped into an artists paper shop and picked up some white cardstock that is very heavy and smooth, and works with different inks/pencils etc.  I've been searching for a paper that won't bleed color while I'm using my American Crafts Alcohol markers-and I found it!!  I love this paper, spent all yesterday afternoon coloring these images (had a bit of a thunderstorm) and found that the markers did not bleed outside the image at all and the colors blended well too.  My only regret-that I bought the smaller pack of paper instead of the large!

Vacation Photos

We are back from our adventure in Germany and Scotland!  So much fun, lots of travelling, and now thankful to be home in our own beds.  Here are my girls on a pedestrian street in Edinburgh.
From the top of the camera obscura building in Edinburgh.
The castle at the end of the Loch Ness tour-Urquhart I think?
Ha!  She posed so pretty and didn't know what he was doing behind her.

Yikes, that's a lot of different plaids in one outfit!!

The view from our B&B on the Isle of Skye-for sure our favorite stop of the tour.

Loved these flowers in the garden area of Dunvegan Castle.

This is the outside of Dunvegan.  The castle is 800 years old and is still used by the family-lots of artifacts there from Flora MacDonald and Bonnie Prince Charlie.
Awesome phone booths all over Scotland-but don't open them up in the city-they smell really bad.
 Portree harbour in Skye.

Caught a Pipe Band performance in Skye as well.
Pin ItLoved this little shop as we waited for the ferry to take us to Mallaig.  He owns two large parrots that loved to talk and whistle at the customers-he is a wonderful photographer.

Anyhow, I could share the other 300 photos I took, but that would be overkill.  Suffice it to say our vacation was fantastic, but now we are happy to be home in our own beds and home cooked meals.
